How Does an Acoustic Camera Work?
An acoustic camera uses an array of microphones and advanced beamforming technology to locate the source of sound.
The system combines acoustic data with a real-time image of the inspected area, creating a visual noise map that shows which parts of a machine, duct, wall, or other structure generate the most noise.
Unlike a conventional sound level meter, which tells you how loud a location is, an acoustic camera helps show where the noise is coming from.
This makes it particularly useful when several potential noise sources are operating at the same time or when the source of a complaint is difficult to identify.
